Our dance division consists of three primary forms of dance: tap, jazz, and ballet, incorporating various styles such as modern, lyrical, and hip hop as they pertain to specific choreographers such as Bob Fosse, Gregory Hines, or Michael Kidd. Students will be evaluated for appropriate instruction

LEVEL 1 HIP HOP
Saturdays: 9:00am-9:45am

Level 1 Hip Hop will follow the same format at Ballet/Tap 1, where students will learn the correct technique and terminology, while also being encouraged to improvise, and gain a greater understanding of dance as an art form. This class will be involved in two performances per school year, including the Winter-Holiday-Festival and Just Dance Showcase. Students must provide pink, white or black leggings or pants (not floor length), and black jazz shoes (not jazz sneakers). Proper attire is expected for every class.

LITTLE PRIMAS DANCE
Saturdays: 11:00am-12:00pm
Grades Pre-K through Kindergarten
Instructor: Kassandra Grant- Sullivan

Little Primas is a class that encourages young children to practice their gross motor skills, while also gaining a basic knowledge of ballet technique and terminology. The class will culminate in a performance at our annual Just Dance! Showcase concert. Students must provide white tights, a white leotard, and pink ballet shoes, with hair off the face. Proper attire is expected for every class.

BEGINNER DANCE

BEGINNER TAP
Grades 3-6
Wednesdays: 3:45pm-4:15pm
$50/month
Tap beginnings focus is on the flap and shuffle execution. Students will undergo drill exercises helping them to master basic tap sequences with the emphasis on sound and rhythmic accuracy. Students will then proceed to more involved combinations culminating in a year end performance.

BEGINNER BALLET
Grades 3-6
Wednesdays: 4:15-4:45pm
$50/month
Ballet Beginnings focus is on proper stretching, balance and posture. Thorough basic pile and tendu exercises, students will work in first and second position initially with the emphasis on correct turnout. Simple combinations and choreography will serve as a means by which students will execute their technique. Students will prepare a routine showcasing their progress culminating in a year end performance.

BEGINNER JAZZ FUNK/HIP HOP
Grades 3-6
Weds 4:45-5:15pm
$50/month
Jazz Funk focuses on rhythm, style, and confidence. Following a thorough warm-up, students will be challenged with an energetic, contemporary choreography. Students will work as an ensemble dance troupe, showcasing their progress individually and collectively. Featuring a variety of great dance music from some of our most popular artists, students will prepare a routineculminating in a year end performance.

INTERMEDIATE TAP
Grades 6-12
Saturdays 11:15am-12:00pm

Intermediate Tap emphasizes on traditional tap technique syncopated rhythms and choreography. The adult class is a great alterative to routine exercise.

INTERMEDIATE BALLET/JAZZ LYRICAL

This is a unique course designed by Theatre Arts Director, Dori Bryan. The course begins with a focus on healthy stretching, posture, balance, alignment, and turnout. Choreography includes a concentrate in traditional ballet, lyrical, and modern studies. Students will then interpret a story through their dance. Past performances include Alvin Ailey's Revelations, Rhapsody In Blue, Aida, and the Shawhank Redemption for which Dori received Platinum Recognition and an Outstanding Choreography nomination at Access Broadway: A National Competition

INTERMEDIATE JAZZ FUNK/HIP HOP
