MACBETH---One of Shakespeare's most popular works, MacBeth deals with the tragedy of Lord and Lady MacBeth and their bloody rise to power. Through crime and manipulation, murder and fear, MacBeth seizes control from the ruling dynasty. Lady MacBeth, the plays most memorable character, proceeds down her own dangeous paths of evil deeds. Eventually she is so racked mentally with guilt from the crimes she and her husband have committed that she is led to madness. Shakespeare brought forth in this, his last tragedy, the full spectrum of the supernatural; witches, ghosts, and wild visions abound.
